Privacy policy

Overview

This policy describes how MEMBUZZ ("we," "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit membuzz.shop or buy one of our products. It applies to anyone who visits the site, regardless of whether you create an account.

What we collect

We collect three categories of information:

• Account info — name, email, and password hash if you register. Customer metadata flags (e.g., exclusive access) if granted by an admin or invite-code redemption.
• Order info — shipping and billing address, items ordered, order total, and whatever payment-handle confirmation you provide (e.g., a Cash App / Venmo / Zelle transaction reference).
• Automatic info — IP address, browser type, pages visited. Used to keep the site running and detect abuse. We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers today.

How we use it

• To process and ship orders.
• To send order confirmations, shipping updates, and customer-service replies (transactional email).
• To send occasional product updates if you signed up for the newsletter — only after you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
• To verify payment receipts and resolve disputes.
• To detect fraud, abuse, and policy violations.

Sharing

We share data with these categories only:

• Service providers — Mailgun (transactional + newsletter email), our hosting and database providers. They process data on our behalf under written terms.
• Manufacturing partner — for orders we fulfill from our LA facility, the shipping name + address is shared so the package can leave the warehouse. Nothing more.
• Payment platforms — Cash App, Venmo, and Zelle handle payment confirmations on their own platforms. We see only the confirmation you forward to us.
• Legal — we'll share data if compelled by a valid subpoena, court order, or to prevent imminent harm. We'll push back on overbroad requests where we can.

We do not sell your data. Ever. There is no advertising business in the loop.

Cookies + tracking

We use a small number of first-party cookies:

• membuzz_auth_token — keeps you signed in after login. 7-day expiry. Cleared on sign-out.
• Cart cookies — remember the cart you started so you can come back to it.
• A dismissal flag for the announcement bar so it doesn't re-show after you close it.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, ad-targeting cookies, or any third-party tracking script at this time. If we add analytics in the future we'll update this policy and put a banner up first.

Retention

Order records are kept indefinitely for accounting, tax, and customer-service reasons. If you delete your account, the personally-identifying account fields (name, email, password hash, addresses) are anonymized, but the underlying order line items and timestamps remain in our records.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights about your personal data:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Ask us to delete your account.
• Opt out of marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link.

Email hello@membuzz.shop from the address on file with the word "privacy" in the subject and we'll handle it within a reasonable window.

Children

MEMBUZZ is not directed at people under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, email us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We'll post a new "Last updated" date when we change this policy. Material changes (anything that affects how we handle your data) will get a visible site notice and, for accountholders, an email.
